One owner of this house recalls the following experience while in the sixth or seventh grade:He
was prowling around in the attic of the house one day.The attic was floored and he happened to trip a
spring loaded door in the floor which opened revealing another floor below about four feet in height. In
this large space that had probably not been opened since the owner died, he found hundreds of Confederate Veteran magazines
and a canvas rolled as a scroll four feet in height and seven feet in length. On the canvas was painted
a scene from the Battle of Stone’s River.
