Ward
The property has been owned over the years by several Murfreesboro families:
1899- Albert King and wife Lillie
bought 2.33 acres from M.F. Leatherman.
1902- The Kings sold the lot to Mrs. Josie B. Ralston, a widow.
1903- She
built the house on the property and sold it to E. D. Cannon and wife Margaret in 1904.
1912- The Cannons lived here
until 1912 and sold the property to Henry King and wife, Katie Cox King.
1921- Dr. Walker to B.F. Cockrill and wife Willie
C. Cockrill.
1928- The Cockrill's to Mattie Patty Hicks
1929- Hicks to Commerce Union Bank.
1936- Commerce
Union Bank acquired more acreage from Leatherman and developed a subdivision "Park Court" which eventually became the
nine residences of "Park Circle"
1941- The Commerce Union Bank sold the subject house and smaller lot to Mrs.
E.C. Holloway.
1948- The Holloway's sold the property to Morris Hoover and wife.
1972- The Hoovers sold the
property to Dr. Jim Bishop and Johnnie Jones.
1974- Bishop and Jones sold the property to the Ward's in 1974.
