HALLS HILL BRIDGE – WEST TRIMBLE ROAD
EAST FORK OF STONES RIVER
In the 1930’s, several metal bridges were built over Stones River through out
Rutherford County. These bridges have all been replaced with modern concrete bridges. Information
in the public records is sparse concerning old bridges over the East Fork of Stones River. I find two references
in the Historical Society publications about the Halls Hill Bridge. One mentions the bridge above Thompson
Wright’s Mill in 1835. The other mentions repairs to the bridge in 1860. This
bridge(s) was, no doubt, build of wood. The metal bridge in the pictures was probably built in the late
1960’s or early 1970’s.
