FOLLOWING ARE TWO GENERATIONS OF OUR LASATER ANCESTORS:
1. Jacob Bell "I" Lasater-1. He was born on Oct 21, 1794 in NC. He died on Jan 26, 1863 in
Cainsville, Wilson Co., TN.
Notes for Jacob Bell "I" Lasater:
A woman by the name of Keziah, born 1800, was living with the family in 1860. This is a sister of
Jacob Bell and Absolom. She was living with
Absolom in 1850 until he died then with Jacob. According to the 1840 census there were 6
children, 3 boys and 3 girls. There also was a male
30-40 in the household in 1840. This may have been John Lasater, born 1803, in NC and
probably was a brother.
In Jacob Bell Lasater's will it names Harriet Weatherly as his deceased daughter. It also names
Harriet's children they are: Deresha, Darthua and Paralee. It was written on June 14, 1861. Jacob
Bell lived in Wilson County from 1820 - 1860.
Levina "Louvina" B McMinn is the daughter of Elihu McMinn and Jane Rene "Jean" Donnell.
She was born on Dec 26, 1802 in Guilford Co., NC. She died on May 17, 1885 in Wilson Co., TN.
Jacob Bell "I" Lasater and Levina "Louvina" B McMinn. They were married on Aug 21, 1821 in
Cainsville, Wilson Co., TN. They had 5 children.
2. i. William Moss Lasater. He was born on Jul 20, 1822 in Wilson Co., TN. He
married Nancy Greene Murphey. They were married on Feb 17, 1845. He died on
Jan 11, 1876 in Lascassas, Rutherford Co., TN. Burial in Lasater Cem.,
Cainsville, TN.
3. ii. Elizabeth Jane Lasater. She was born Abt. 1824 in Wilson Co., TN. She married
Robert J Allen. They were married on Jan 24, 1844.
4. iii. Harriet Amanda Lasater. She was born Abt. 1826 in Wilson Co., TN. She
married Thompson "CSA" Weatherly. They were married on Jan 17, 1849 in
Wilson Co., TN. She died Bef. 1856 in TN.
5. iv. Felice Ann Lasater. She was born Abt. 1827 in Wilson Co., TN. She married
John M Allen. They were married on Oct 01, 1845.
6. v. Gideon B Lasater. He was born May 1840 in Wilson Co., TN. He married Martha
C Ozment. They were married on Mar 14, 1861 in Rutherford Co., TN.

Nancy Greene Murphey is the daughter of John Greene Murphey and Tabitha Bryant. She was
born on Dec 29, 1824 in Rutherford Co., TN. She died on May 10, 1884 in Lascassas, Rutherford
Co., TN. Burial in Lasater Cem., Cainsville, TN.

i. Louvina V Lasater. She was born on Oct 24, 1846 in Wilson Co., TN. She
married Patrick Bethel Florida. They were married on Feb 20, 1867 in Wilson Co.,
TN. She died Feb 1940 in Rutherford Co., TN. Burial in Greenvale, Florida Cem.,
Wilson Co., TN.
ii. Harriet Amanda Lasater. She was born on Oct 07, 1848 in Wilson Co., TN. She
married CSA Erastus Smith Jennings. They were married on Oct 25, 1866 in
Wilson Co., TN. She died on Mar 11, 1919 in Wilson Co., TN.
Notes for Harriet Amanda Lasater:
On July 21, 1905, Mandy applied for a Widow's Indigent Pension. Her husband
was in Company D, 4th Tennessee Cavalry, Smith's Regiment during the War
Between the States. Erastus surrendered at the end of the war at Greensboro,
NC in April 1865. At the time of her application, she owned a small tact of
mountain land taxed at $550.00, but at the time of her husband's death of
consumption she had no land and only a few household items.
iii. Jacob Bell "II" Lasater. He was born on Jun 22, 1850 in Wilson Co., TN. He
married Susan Hannah Elizabeth Florida. They were married on Aug 15, 1870 in
Wilson Co., TN. He died on Feb 16, 1925 in Fannin Co., TX. Burial in Whiterock
Cem., Fannin Co., TX.
iv. Mary L Lasater. She was born on Mar 12, 1852 in Wilson Co., TN. She died on
Apr 19, 1852 in TN.
v. Sarah E Lasater. She was born on May 06, 1853 in Wilson Co., TN. She died on
Aug 03, 1855 in TN.
vi. William Allen Lasater. He was born on Jan 12, 1856 in Rutherford Co., TN. He
married Martha Louisa Frances Florida. They were married on Jan 08, 1880 in
Rutherford Co., TN. He died on Aug 30, 1936 in Lamasco, Fannin Co., TX. Burial
in Whiterock Cem., Fannin Co., TX.
vii. Nancy Burnette "Betta" Lasater. She was born on Nov 19, 1857 in Rutherford
Co., TN. She married Hiram Wroe Lester. They were married on Aug 06, 1884 in
Wilson Co., TN. She died on Nov 13, 1892 in Rutherford Co., TN. Burial in
Lasater Cem., Cainsville, Wilson Co., TN.
viii. Albert Carden Lasater. He was born on May 18, 1861 in Rutherford Co., TN. He
married M A Edwards. They were married on Sep 20, 1885. He died on Mar 12,
1894 in TN.
ix. Adelia D F L Lasater. She was born on Sep 23, 1866 in Wilson Co., TN. She
died on Jan 01, 1889.

TN. He died on Dec 02, 1901 in Nashville, Davidson Co., TN. Burial in Tune

Notes for Granville Turner "CSA" Allen:
Granville Turner was an original member of The Cainsville Guards. He
transferred to Company G, 45th Regiment and was discharged from that unit at
Vicksburg, MS on July 7, 1862. He then enlisted as a private in Company G. 4th
(McLemore's) Regiment TN Cavalry on 1/25/1863 at Spring Hill, TN. He was
wounded at Shiloh and also at Cartersville, GA. From: "The Cainsville Guards" by

Joined the Bradley's Creek Baptist Church, Sept 1865.
iii. Caroline V Allen. She was born Abt. 1848.
iv. Hall Allen. He was born Abt. 1851.
v. Brantley Allen. He was born Abt. 1854.
vi. Levina Allen. She was born Abt. 1854.
vii. Beney Allen. He was born Abt. 1862.
4. Harriet Amanda Lasater-2 (Jacob Bell "I" Lasater-1). She was born Abt. 1826 in Wilson Co., TN.
She died Bef. 1856 in TN.
Thompson "CSA" Weatherly is the son of William Weatherly and Mary Maria Hudson. He was
born Abt. 1830 in Wilson Co., TN. He died Abt. 1895.
Notes for Thompson "CSA" Weatherly:
Thompson's service record is meager. He was an original member of The Cainsville Guard and
was captured 2/16/1862 at Fort Donelson, but later escaped. He then went home. From: "The
Cainsville Guards" by Howard Lytle Givens.
Thompson "CSA" Weatherly and Harriet Amanda Lasater. They were married on Jan 17, 1849 in
Wilson Co., TN. They had 4 children.
i. Gideon Weatherly.
ii. Diretha Weatherly. She was born on Mar 06, 1850 in Wilson Co., TN. She
married Robert Lafayette Mount. They were married on Oct 07, 1876. She died
on Feb 19, 1926. Burial in Mount Cem., Spain's Hill Rd., Wilson Co., TN.
The following appears in Wilson County Quarterly Court Minutes:
"Direatha A. Weatherly charged Robert L. Mount with being the father of her two
bastard children. The eldest was born June 18, 1872, the youngest was born
October 17, 1874. She received $180 from the defendant." Recorded June Term
1875 (P.487)
iii. Darthula J Weatherly. She was born on Aug 23, 1851 in Wilson Co., TN. She
married CSA William Ethridge. They were married on Feb 17, 1870 in Rutherford
Co., TN. She died on Feb 25, 1921.
iv. Paralee Weatherly. She was born Abt. 1855 in Wilson Co., TN.
5. Felice Ann Lasater-2 (Jacob Bell "I" Lasater-1). She was born Abt. 1827 in Wilson Co., TN.
