Tennessee Cemeteries

Bradley's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery - Take Lascassas Pike (Hwy 96E) about 14 miles from Murfreesboro.  Turn left on Bradley's Creek  Road.  Cemetery on right of Bradley's Creek Road in front of Church.  Jan 30, 1837, John Green Murphey deeded two acres to the Church for the meeting house and reserved ¼ for the graveyard of the said John G. Murphey.  In 1851, James Jordan sold to the Church 1 acre for $5.00 and gave 20 poles.  The existing graveyard of John Green Murphey was included in the Church graveyard.  Oral history tells us that the area by the road that runs parallel to the fence are slave graves.  The slaves attended this Church until they were able to support their own Church which is about 1/4 mile up the road today, 2008.
